Aventon Aventure vs Aventure 2.0: Electrical Specs & Key Features

Let’s start the Aventon Aventure vs Aventure 2.0 comparison by looking at the upgrades in the electrical specs department.

The original Aventon Aventure comes with some decent features. Let’s find out if Aventon has managed to fill the deficiencies in the previous Aventure model.

Sensors:

The biggest upgrade in Aventon Aventure 2.0 is the addition of a Torque Sensor which improves the overall riding experience. A torque sensor relies on the pressure you put into pedaling and gives your appropriate torque to power the ebike without any delays.

The Aventon Aventure 1 comes with a cadence sensor which does the job well. But sometimes you may experience a delay of around one second before the motor starts giving you the torque.

This is because a cadence sensor relies on the number of pedal rotations per minute and is activated only after you have gone through half of the rotation.

The delay is not that much of a problem and you will adjust to it sooner than you can imagine. But Aventon Aventure 2 gives you a more responsive pedaling experience due to the presence of a torque sensor.

Motor & Speed:

Aventon Aventure 2.0 comes with the same 750W rear hub motor as you get with the original Aventure. However, this time Aventon has used its own branding on the motor.

The Aventure 1 has a 750W Bafang rear hub motor which is powerful enough to push your ebike on even steep hills. So, the difference is only limited to the branding of the motor. The sustained and peak power in both motors is the same.

When it comes to speed, Aventon Aventure 2.0 can also go up to 28 mph. Like the Aventure 1, the Aventon Aventure 2.0 is also shipped as a Class 2 ebike. So, you’ll have to tweak the settings from the display and both ebikes will give you a top speed of 28 mph even on the throttle.

Battery & Range:

Aventon has kept the same 48V, 15Ah battery in Aventure 2.0. So, there’s no difference in battery between Aventon Aventure vs Aventure 2.0.

Although batteries are the same, Aventure 2.0 comes with a slightly improved maximum range of 60 miles when compared to the 53-mile range in the original Aventure.

This range is possible only in the least pedal assist level. The minor difference in range is due to the torque sensor that comes with the Aventure 2.

In the throttle-only mode, you will get a range of 25-30 miles on both Aventure models. This range can vary depending on different circumstances including the rider’s weight and riding surface.

These range estimates are based on flat terrain. So, if you ride on a steep hill, Aventure or Aventure 2 would give you even less range. But that’s the case for every electric bike you see in the market.

Lights:

Both Aventon Aventure and Aventure 2.0 come with an integrated headlight that is mounted on the handlebar. Although the headlight is small, it does a reasonable job and you won’t have to pay anything extra for this essential component.

So, there’s no difference between Aventon Aventure vs Aventure 2.0 as far as the headlight is concerned.

Like the Aventon Sinch 2 and Pace 500.3, the Aventure 2.0 also comes with integrated rear lights with turn signals. Level 2 is the only new electric bike from Aventon that does not feature these turn signals.

This is a feature Aventon is introducing in its new electric bikes and we could not be happier.

The turn signals can be operated from the controls on the convenient handlebar. Moreover, the tail lights with turn signals are very bright as well. Aventon Aventure 1 comes with a tail light, but you won’t get any turn signals.

Charging:

Finally, Aventure 2.0 also comes with the same 48V 3A charger as you get with the Aventure 1. This is a fast charger and you can expect a full charge within 4-5 hours.

There are very few electric bikes in the market that come with fast charging and Aventon ebikes are the most notable ones.

Aventon Aventure vs Aventure 2.0: Dimensions, Design, & Weight Limits

Frame:

There is not much difference between Aventon Aventure and Aventure when it comes to frame design or dimensions.

Both Aventon Aventure and Aventure 2.0 are offered in step-over and step-through frames. However, there is some difference in the sizing of the frames.

The Aventon Aventure step-over comes in three frame sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. As for the step-through frame, Aventure 1 comes in 2 sizes: Small/Medium and Medium/Large.

As we write this Aventon Aventure vs Aventure 2.0 comparison, only Small and Medium sizes in the step-over frame of Aventure 1 are available at Aventon’s official website.

Aventure 2 also comes in two sizes each for both step-over and step-through frame types and you can check the recommended heights from the above table. Color options are also different for both of these fat-tire electric bikes.

Weight Limits:

Aventon Aventure is 4 lbs lighter than the Aventure 2.0 so the weight difference is not a big one. And since it’s not a folding ebike that you may need to lift, the weight is decent for a fat tire electric bike with such features.

Both electric bikes can bear a maximum payload of 400 lbs and rear racks can support a load of up to 55 lbs.

Let’s move on to the third section of the Aventon Aventure vs Aventure 2.0 comparison.
