Aventon Sinch vs Lectric XP 3.0: Electrical Specs & Key Features

Rear Hub Motor:

The first big difference between Aventon Sinch and Lectric XP 3.0 is the rear hub motor. Although both ebikes feature a 500W nominal power motor, XP 3.0 can give you a peak power of 1000W.

Aventon Sinch vs Lectric XP 3.0

Aventon Sinch can only offer a peak power of 750W. Although the difference between the two motors doesn’t look much, it means everything when you are riding on a steep hill.

Top Speed:

Along with a more powerful motor, Lectric XP 3.0 can go up to a top speed of 28 mph. Aventon Sinch, on the other hand, offers a max speed of 20 mph.

Lectric XP 3.0 ships as a Class 2 ebike, so you need to tweak the settings from the app to convert it to a Class 3 ebike. 8 mph is a big difference in top speed and something that you should consider before making a decision.

Battery & Range:

Since we are comparing the Aventon Sinch with the Long-range model of XP 3.0, there is no difference between the batteries. Both folding ebikes come with a 48V, 14 Ah detachable battery.

You may be thinking that the same batteries would lead to a similar range in both ebikes. Well, that’s clearly not the case and things are not that simple with ebikes.

Lectric XP 3.0 offers a maximum range of 65 miles on the pedal assist, compared to just 40 miles in the Aventon Sinch. 25 miles is a significant difference and you would definitely be charging less frequently with the Lectric XP 3.0.

Pedal Assist & Throttle:

Both Aventon Sinch and Lectric XP 3.0 offer 5 Pedal Assist levels. However, there is a slight difference in the throttle of both these folding electric bikes. While the Aventon Sinch comes with a Thumb throttle you see in every other ebike, Lectric XP 3.0 offers a twist throttle.

This is not something unique to XP 3.0 as all Lectric ebikes come with a twist throttle. So, this might be a new experience for you, but this is how it goes with the Lectric ebikes. Nonetheless, a thumb throttle is more comfortable than a twist throttle for most riders.

Sensor:

Both Aventon Sinch and Lectric XP 3.0 come with cadence sensors as these are budget ebikes. Torque Sensor is more of a luxury you see in ebikes with a price tag on the higher end. So, this is not something to worry about a lot.

Charging:

Let’s talk about charging. So, Aventon Sinch has a slightly better 3A charger, compared to the 2A charger that comes with the Lectric XP 3.0. So, you can expect Aventon Sinch to charge at least an hour earlier as compared to Lectric XP 3.0.

We can expect these brands to include a 4A charger even in their affordable models. But, you’ll have to rely on 2A or 3A chargers which are pretty decent considering the affordability of these ebikes.

Lights:

Integrated lights are a feature that many affordable ebikes fail to provide. The same is the case with Aventon Sinch which does not come with any integrated headlight or rear light. This can become a problem when you are riding in low-light conditions. Aventon has solved this problem with the new Sinch 2 ebike which is not in the affordable ebikes category.

Lectric XP 3.0, on the other hand, does come with an integrated headlight which is a great feature in affordable ebikes. It also has a taillight which is not flashy but does the job. So, these lights make Lectric XP 3.0 a lot safer to ride in low-light conditions.

Enough about the electrical components. Let’s talk about the design, dimensions, and weight limits of these ebikes.

Frame:

As we write this comparison, you can only get a step-over model of the Aventon Sinch from their official website. But Lectric XP 3.0 is available in both step-through and step-over frames.

Weight Limits:

Both of these ebikes have a decent weight for a folding electric bike. The maximum payload capacity is not much different either.

However, Lectric XP 3.0 comes with a rear rack load capacity of 150 lbs, 100 lbs more than the Aventon Sinch can offer you. Lectric welded the rear rack onto the frame so that XP 3.0 can carry a lot more weight than the previous XP 2.0 model.

And there is careful planning behind this move by Lectric as there are a lot of accessories that are designed for this rear rack. A food delivery package, passenger package, and hard cooler are some of the popular ones.

Even if you don’t intend to use those accessories, 150 lbs rear rack capacity will still come in handy. You can always give someone a ride along the way. And if you have kids, they can also hop on to the XP 3.0.

Rider Height:

As you already know step-through ebikes make more sense for short riders. So, if you have a height of 4’10″ – 6’5″, Lectric XP 3.0 has got you covered.

Aventon Sinch step-over model comes with a recommended rider height of 5’0″ – 6’3″.

Brakes:

Both Aventon Sinch and Lectric XP 3.0 come with Shimano components which are durable. You’ll get a 7-speed shifter in both ebikes.

Tires:

Aventon Sinch comes with 20” x 4” fat tires whereas the Lectric XP 3.0 comes with 20” x 3” fat tires. So, Sinch will give you a slightly more comfortable ride on rough tracks. In comparison, Lectric XP 3.0 is more manoeuvrable with 3” tires.

Suspension:

These folding electric bikes have a similar suspension as both come with a front suspension fork. However, Lectric XP 3.0 comes with 50mm of travel as compared to the 45mm travel you get with the Aventon Sinch. So, the 5mm difference is not a huge one, but still, it does help in bumpy rides.
