The biggest upgrade in the Heybike Ranger S is its powerful rear hub motor. With a nominal power of 750W, the Ranger S can climb pretty steep hills without any hassle. The top speed has also increased from 25mph to 28mph.
Battery is pretty much the same in both the Ranger models which means there is no difference in range as well. However, Heybike has introduced a 4A charger for the new Ranger S model which means it can get fully charged within 3-4 hours.
There are very few ebikes in the market that come with a 4A charger so fast charging in Ranger S is a significant upgrade.
Heybike has also included the app support in Heybike Ranger S which means you can adjust the ebike speed from your smartphone. The app is compatible with both Android and iOS.
Finally, the Heybike Ranger S model comes with turn signals which are integrated into both the headlight and taillight. The headlight is also stronger in the Heybike Ranger S as compared to the original Ranger model.
One area where we think Heybike could have improved the Ranger S model is its sensor. The Ranger S also comes with the Cadence Sensor as is the case with the previous Ranger model. Heybike has included a 5-level pedal assist in the Ranger S model.
We would love to see a Torque sensor in Heybike Ranger models but that will likely increase the price of these ebikes as well. Overall, the cadence sensor in both ebikes is pretty responsive and you won’t feel any lag.

Heybike Ranger S comes with an improved design and the frame looks more sturdy than the original Ranger model.
Heybike has also changed the location of the battery in the Heybike Ranger S model. In the previous Ranger model, you have to remove the seat post before you can take out the battery.
This is no longer a hassle in the Heybike Ranger S as the battery is now located in the main frame and you can easily detach it before folding the ebike.
Heybike has also reduced the minimum seat post height to 27″ in the Heybike Ranger S model making it more convenient for short riders.
Moreover, the ebike Ranger S has an improved maximum payload capacity of 400 lbs, 100 lbs more than what the previous Ranger model has to offer.
So, if you are a short or heavy rider, the Heybike Ranger S is more suitable for you.

Heybike has introduced RSX hydraulic brakes into the new Ranger S model as compared to the mechanical disc brakes in the original Ranger folding ebike.

Nonetheless, the original Ranger model is still a pretty solid ebike with decent features. If you don’t ride on steep hills that often and you are not a fan of fast charging, you can go for the Ranger and expect fun rides.
